I like snow. I often wonder what it would be like to live in a place where snow lasts all winter.
Here it doesn't, and melting snow isn't nice.
It gets all brown and takes forever to melt.
I played ultimate frisbee today. The snow on the ground was more slush than snow. Every step sent slush spraying into the air. Parts of the field had 2-3 inches of water. It was about 50 degrees Farenheit...which felt relatively balmy...except in the wet parts. My toes are still recovering.
I used to play frisbee in several inches of water in phoenix, when they irrigated the fields...in retrospect that was gross, since the irrigation water was reclaimed.
Anyway, despite the loss of feeling in several toes, the game was fun. After playing for a while we decided to play to five and then call it quits. As time passed and defense reigned, we decided to play to three. Eventually we were reduced to "next point wins." I scored the winning point...to everyone's relief

When I lived at Interlochen, there was snow on the ground from late November until late March.
It was ok, I guess. We used to play ultimate frisbee in the snow as well, until it got too deep to play, which around mid-December. It was too hard to run in. My favorite days were those snow days though, playing until the light was gone as we peeled off layers. One time I even took off my shirt--until I wiped out full in a snow bank.
fun memories...when we lived in Farmington for 6 years we had a pond and skated every day we could after school. My dad made hockey nets, so we played hockey in our figure skates. When the snow got hard and icy we skated down the sledding hill.
