YOu're crazy. Jimmy Carter has to be in close running for worst president of the last 140 years. Name one thing he did right. And the Camp David Accords don't count. All he did for that was stand around and look pretty.
As to Clinton, I admit he deseres a bit higher esteem. He did preside over on of the most prolonged periods of economic growth and international peace in our history, and I almost included him in the list I would be willing to argue for that reason. This was mostly because he left things alone, but the fact that he did this out of laziness rather than the conviction that limited government is a good thing rules him out in my book. Either way though, how can you even consider him in the running for best in the last 140 years. You might as well argue for Nixon. He did a lot of good things too--before Watergate.
