A tribute

This picture makes me think of my brother--for reasons beyond the the obvious. Or perhaps I should say this picture represents how I see my brother and the things I like about him.

His intensity, his seriousness, his thoughtfulness, his devotion...they all come through in this picture. He is, despite his frustrating stubborness and occasional self-righteousness, a man of prayer and of God, and I love him.

I also like the fact that it is black and white, because more than perhaps any person I know this is how my brother sees the world. Right is right and wrong is wrong, intellectually, spiritually, personally. I appreciate this about him, because he helps remind me, that there is truth and there is falsehood and that they can be recognized.

Hey, I took that picture!
Steven, I agree with David in his descriptions of you. I capture my thoughts in pictures and him in words.
